A usable path forward

Built for reading, navigating, and revisiting.

Important information should remain available without relying on a color, an animation, or a mouse.

The site includes a skip-to-content link, visible keyboard focus indicators, a keyboard-operable mobile menu, and semantic headings. Articles have a linked table of contents so readers can move directly to a section. Native disclosure controls are used for frequently asked questions.

Motion and display preferences

The topic ticker has a pause control. When a device requests reduced motion, the site disables its nonessential animations and animated scrolling. Responsive layouts support narrow screens, and article text is not embedded only inside an image.

The featured images have descriptive alternative text. Example states are identified by text rather than color alone. Print styles remove navigation and decorative elements from long articles to emphasize the reading content.

Progressive enhancement

The guides and navigation destinations remain part of the HTML when JavaScript is unavailable. JavaScript adds local filtering, example-state switching, clipboard actions, and menu enhancements. It is not required to retrieve the article text.

Limits and feedback

These design features are not a claim of formal accessibility certification or a guarantee that every combination of device and assistive technology behaves identically. Feedback about a barrier is welcome.

Email [email protected] with the page, the action you were attempting, and the browser or assistive technology details you are comfortable sharing. Do not include private account information. A clear description of the barrier helps identify a useful correction.
